KGB Smeared Pope Pius XII
Pope Pius XII is probably the most maligned of the Catholic popes. This pope has been given several insulting monickers, among which are, The Deputy and Hitler’s Pope.
Now finally the truth has been revealed and we know that the KGB was spearheading the disinformation campaign against the pope. This campaign was the brainchild of Nikita Khrushchev. The choice of Pope Pius XII was simple - dead men can’t defend themselves. Khrushchev’s objective was to erode the moral weight of the Vatican in Europe and eventually destroy it. It’s a pity that Khrushchev didn’t live long enough to watch his own evil empire disintegrate.
How apt that last Sunday’s Gospel reading was the abridged version of the Beatitudes and Jesus says we should be blessed when people abuse us and denounce us on account of the Son of Man. I’m sure Pope Pius was rejoicing while as these scenes are being played out (no pun here) - The Deputy is a theatrical performance.
Pope Pius XII was a man who saved thousands of Jews in Europe from the Holocaust at the hands of the Nazis but accused of the opposite. The cause for the Canonization of Pope Pius XII is in progress and let’s pray that Pope Pius shall intercede for all people who are victims of political conspiracy and victimization.
