Beware - Judas Lives
Although many Christians are aware that Judas was one of first Apostles of Christ and was in the Upper Room at the last supper, many of us don’t realize that he was also among the first and only group of priests ordained by Christ himself. As we know the priesthood was instituted by Jesus on Holy Thursday. Judas of course also the one who betrayed him, but not the only one, as Peter denied Christ three times and they rest were no where to be found after Christ’s arrest.
Now we have another priest who is betraying Christ by denying his Divinity. Fr. Franck Moloney has teamed up with Jeffrey Archer and authored a book. I always wonder what it is with such priests who are supposed to have been trained in theology and therefore more knowledgeable than us laypeople, but ultimately abandon their belief that Jesus is God. Sometimes I wonder if it’s too much of education that blinds the educated from simple reasoning that makes them cook up some elaborate counter thesis. But this hypothesis is wrong as the most educated or intelligent person I can remember who believed in God was Albert Einstein. Maybe it’s pride that only they were endowed with the intelligence to be able to decipher was is hidden from the heathen masses.
At least Judas had remorse that he had done something wrong. We can only pray that Fr. Moloney and many others like him will repent from their errors and embrace Christ again.
