A Fine Shepherd
Zenit news agency reports on the death, at the age of 103, of Bishop Joseph Meng Ziwan of Nanning, China.
Here is a Bishop who refused to collude with the Communists and remained an Underground Bishop throughout his life and spent about 20 years in forced labour camps.
Such a contrast between Bishop Meng of China and Archbishop Stanislaw Wielgus of Poland. The former refused to kowtow to the Chinese Communists (who are ruthless), whereas the latter colluded with the Polish Communists (who were more benign).
The reward for the several decades of untiring service to the Lord was to be manifested to his Saviour on Epiphany, the day he died.
