Tag:, , ,
Have you ever listened to couples who have been married awhile? They talk about how their is no life in their marriage. Their married lives consist of the daily grind and hustle and bustle of work, children, household chores. The romance has seem to become lost someplace. This does not need to happen. Among the priorities of your life, one should be make sure your spouse feels special to you. It will keep your relationship healthy, stable and still have sparks flying.

Here are some helpful tips to get you started on adding that spark back to the marriage.

Communication

A relationship can become lifeless due to the lack of properly communicating with one another. All couples need to set sometime up to sit and talk. I do not mean trying to talk to your husband while his football game is on or the wife during her soaps. I mean uninterrupted time with no distractions. You need to share and talk about your dreams, desires, everyday problems et.. You need to ask one another how was the other’s day.

When communication with one another you need to remember the following:

Truly listen just do not nod and agree. Do not interrupt your spouse. Let them finish what they are saying before commenting. Look into your spouses yes. There is nothing more frustrating than talking to a person with their eyes darting every place around. Ask thoughtful questions not demanding ones. Take the negativity out. Do not gripe, find fault, insult et..

I Love You

Those three little words can add a wealth of warmth and compassion to your spouses day. You do not need to say it every hour on the hour. Once a night even is great. Remember that life is to short and anything can happen. Reminding your spouse daily that you love them will go along way.

Affirmations

“I am really proud of how you run the house and take care of the kids” is a well meaning affirmation. They will make your spouse feel special. You can do this not only in person but on voice mail, email, or on a simple note card.

Date Night

At least once a week set aside a night for just the two of you. Simply just go out, whether to the movies, dinner or dancing.

Surprises

Bring your spouse a single rose, or even flowers from your garden. Pick them up a simple gift, this does not have to be expensive. Just do this for no reason at all. This act cost nearly nothing. It does speak volumes of your feelings. It will make your spouses day wonderful.

Away From Home Still Communicate

Whether you are visiting dear aunt Gert, or on a business trip, call. This will make your spouse feel special. Say things like “I really miss you”. This will let you know that you are still in their thoughts.
