Ascension of Jesus

Tag:, ,

On Wednesdays, the Church declares that when we pray the rosary the Mysteries we meditate on are the Glorious ones. Today while praying the rosary and while meditating on the Ascension of Our Lord, I remembered what my friend, Jeremy, told me a few months ago.

He had an epiphany that when Jesus ascended into Heaven, He didn’t launch off like a rocket, that is vertically at 90 degrees to the ground. Jeremy believes that it could have been at a very gentle gradient like 10 or 45 degrees. This would enable the Apostles to view Jesus longer than if it had been perpendicular to the ground. An interesting thought. Would Jesus therefore also return in the same way?
