Jesus Christ had taught us that adultery begins not with sexual contact but in the mind when we make eye contact (Mt. 5:28). Just as being in love with someone is an active event, adultery is also an active involvement of our will and not merely emanating from our hormones. We decide who we love and who we commit adultery with. That’s why Jesus admonishes us to pull out our eye that causes us to sin.
