Our Coronation
Last month, one of the cable channels screened “The Princess Diaries 2″. We watched it as a family and we throughly enjoyed the movie which we had watched when it was screened in the cinemas some years back.
One of the most memorable moments for me was towards the end of the movie when Princess Mia was crowned as the new Queen of Genovia. After the coronation the Chancellor presented her to the guests and proclaimed her as the new Queen of Genovia, by announcing her name in full. For some reason during the coronation process, I recalled the fifth decade of the Glorious mystery of the Rosary, when Mother Mary was also crowned as Queen of Heaven.
After the movie I commented to my wife, we would also go through this ceremony when (I’m being presumptuous) we arrive in Heaven. Would there be a “chancellor” announcing our crowning as a Saint, by pronouncing our name in full and in an grand manner? I would like to believe so. I’m pretty certain there’ll be much rejoicing and celebration among the Saints already in Heaven before us, just as in the movie.
This after all is our purpose on Earth - to become Saints in Heaven.
