A few nights ago while having our family dinner, my teenage son and wife were commenting on Barack Obama and his meteoric rise in politics. I had at that time commented that Obama rhymes with Osama (bin Laden). This got my mind wandering for a while and I realised that these two men have some more things in common. Here they are:

1. Both men’s convictions were formed in the US. Bin Laden completed his education in Engineering in the US and Obama is a lawyer.
2. Both use their knowledge of their respective fields for destructive purposes. Bin Laden blows things up and Obama legislates destructive practices.
3. Both men believe that they worship the one true God. Bin Laden of course regards Jesus only as a prophet and Obama worships his version of Jesus.
4. Both men have no qualms of exterminating people. Bin Laden in dramatic explosive fashion and Obama via silent legislation of abortion.
5. Both men want to influence and change the world according to their personal beliefs.

The differences between them are not encouraging either.

1. Bin Laden believes that the people he kills have been mandated by God for his destruction and Obama doesn’t even believe those who are killed in abortion clinics are people yet.
2. Bin Laden wants everybody to be Muslim and Obama wants everybody to believe anything they want about anything.

Wouldn’t the world be a peaceful place if both these men (and all other people) believed in the One True Jesus and His teachings?
