Jewish History Repeats Itself
Today I have a controversial sounding piece to write about.
Daniel Pipes has written an account of the state of Israeli politics in the Catholic Exchange. He makes a comparison of the governments since 2000 against the leadership between 1948 and 2000. The contrast is that the earlier governments were led by brilliant people but those who lead now have lost the tenacity and intrepid character that used to make the Israeli government feared amongst its neighbors.
When I read Daniel Pipes’ article, one example seemed like deja vu. It reminded me of a scene from the Passion of the Christ.
The release of the most notorious murderer in Israeli jails - Samir Kuntar. 2000 years ago the Jewish leaders instigated the crowd to demand for the release of Barnabas, also the vilest criminal in jail at that time.
There are those who say that history repeats itself. When the Israelites exchanges Barnabas for Jesus, it spelt doom for Israel as a nation within a few years. I pray that history does not repeat itself this time around.

Dear “New Trainee”:
You need more education before attempting to publish!
It was not BARNABAS who was released when Jesus was condemned, it was BARRABAS!
You cannot hope to be taken seriously if you can’t get your facts straight! Back to the books…….FAST!
