Know Church History, Cease to Be Protestant

Cardinal Newman once said that it’s every Catholic’s obligation to know the history of the Church or be ineffective witnesses to Christ. Being ignorant of Church history will leave us open to defeat by opponents of the Church. The power of such knowledge helps a Protestant to cease to be one!
Patrick Madrid, advises that an effective method is to read books on Church history and he highly recommends the following:
- History of Christendom - Vol. 1 (Founding of Christendom)
- History of Christendom - Vol 2 (Building of Christendom)
- History of Christendom - Vol 3 (Glory of Christendom)
- History of Christendom - Vol 4 (Cleaving of Christendom)
- Those Terrible Middle Ages!
- The Catholic Church: The First 2000 Years
