Daniel Ali is a convert to Catholicism from Islam. He recently presented a lecture at a seminar titled, “What Every Catholic Should Know About Islam”, in Virginia.
He advises that contrary to pupular secular beliefs, Muslims actually respect people of other religions who are strong in their faith and actively discuss and live it. Hence all the hullabaloo about Christmas decorations offending Muslims (and maybe for that matter people of other religions) is drivel.
As an immigrant from Iraq, he admires the American attitude of defending one’s beliefs, but tend to suffer from trepidation when it comes to Christianity. He goes on to elucidate the two types of jihad in Islam.
